Restaurants Near Yorktown Mall: A Local Foodie’s Guide
The Yorktown Center is full of places to eat, but rather than the boring chains you see at other malls, it actually gives you places to look forward to. The dining scene has been quietly booming in Lombard over the last couple of years. Now regarded as one of the major draws to the area, there are new restaurants popping up every day that are filled with incredible chefs and locally rooted communities. These are the kind of spots you will happily become a regular at. Focusing on independent and locally owned places, here is our guide to the best eats near the Yorktown Center in Lombard.
Greek Islands
You can never go wrong with Greek food. If we had to pick one place for you to sit down and enjoy a meal near Yorktown Mall, we would recommend Greek Islands. This location is the second of the two in the area, with the original in Greek Town in Chicago. The lineage matters here – the restaurant has been serving customers since 1971 and is credited with introducing the flaming saganaki and gyros to American diners. This legendary place is still incredibly important in Chicago, the suburbs, and beyond. With ingredients imported from Greece, the food is one of a kind.
This place has incredible staying power. Reading through the hundreds of reviews on Google and Yelp, you can’t help but notice the overwhelmingly positive experience customers have at Greek Islands. One review writes, “We’ve been coming to Greek Islands in Lombard for nearly 30 years, and it’s still the original and the best! Yes, we had about a 40-minute wait on a busy Saturday night, but it was absolutely worth it… The saganaki was fire (literally and figuratively)—such a fun start to the meal. The shish kebab was juicy and flavorful, and the stuffed peppers were seasoned to perfection. What really stands out is how the entire staff works as a team—hustling, smiling, and making every guest feel welcome.”
Gia Mia
Brand new to the Lombard area is Gia Mia, which opened in July of 2025. Rather than a national chain, this wood-fired pizza restaurant is a part of a local success story. With another location nearby, Gia Mia grew into a well-loved name in the area and has been around for over 10 years. Opening up a new spot in Lombard was the next logical step.
The team at Gia Mia describes their style and focus as “chef-driven, farm-to-fork food concepts such as Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas, creative small plates, fresh pasta, antipasto, and hand-made mozzarella.” The pizzas are also well known for being topped with house-made mozzarella, and nothing can beat that charred taste from the wood fire with those crunchy, burned, blistered edges. And while pizza is the main attraction, don’t sleep on the small plates either. Everything that comes out of this restaurant is delicious. This place makes for a great low-key date night or a family meal that’s meant to be shared.
Ancho & Agave
Ancho and Agave is a modern, local Mexican chain that opened in Yorktown in December of 2024. With a couple of locations in the Chicago suburbs, the one in Lombard is 9,000 sq ft with a large patio that’s open during the warm weather season. Tripadvisor talks about this spot, which comes highly recommended.
“Ancho & Agave was born out of a flavor-obsessed craving for fresh, delicious Mexican food with a side of fun. We’re more than just tacos, amigos, and tequila… we welcome you to experience Ancho & Agave as you are; there are no white tablecloths at this taco joint!”
The casual, lively energy is the biggest draw of this restaurant. The food lineup remains creative with classics, so you can always get exactly what you’re craving. They even have birria, which is hard to find in the suburbs. Stop by for a margarita or two and enjoy the patio, their unique take on food, and the welcoming atmosphere.
Honey Berry Pancakes & Café
Don’t worry, we will never forget about breakfast. Not every great meal has to be dinner, and Honey Bear and Honey Berry Pancakes and Café makes sure you know that’s true. This place handles the morning shift near Yorktown, and it’s the kind of breakfast and lunch spot that people rely on. With generous portion sizes, a menu filled with pancakes, crepes, French toast, and egg dishes, and a relaxed atmosphere, there’s a reason this place stays packed. If anyone in the area has ever asked, “Where should we go for brunch?”, this is always the spot. For many residents, having a local diner that they can rely on is an important pillar of community and a priority when deciding where to settle down. Honey Berry Pancakes and Cafe is exactly that: the perfect mix of modern flavors and classic diner vibes.
Not every great meal is dinner. Honey Berry Pancakes & Café handles the morning shift near Yorktown, and it’s the kind of independent breakfast-and-brunch spot that a neighborhood actually needs — generous plates, a deep menu of pancakes, crepes, skillets, and egg dishes, and a relaxed pace that’s miles from a drive-thru.
